Connection Definition
Con · nec · tion, n.,
Connection, in coaching, begins with increasing self-awareness that includes mind, body and spirit. Becoming aware of the diverse perceptions within and outside ourselves enables us to determine our level of connection to ourselves and our life experiences.
Connection is a dynamic process on a continuum. When we are "in connection", there are feelings of lightness, sensations of well-being, peacefulness and unconditional love as well as being in flow. When we are "disconnected", we have fearful and judgmental perceptions, as well as feelings of loss and separation from self and others.
Connection is also a goal or destination, in terms of increasing the duration of time spent in that desired state. The focus of the connection process is to provide safe transformational growth experiences that teach the process of rebalancing into connection when there is disconnection. By becoming compassionate observers of ourselves, making conscious choices and learning how to release thoughts, things and behaviors that no longer serve us, we improve our connections.
