Become an Instructor

The designation of instructor is reserved for people who, through their own learning, riding, and teaching, have committed to the purpose and mission of Connected Riding. Instructors share in the responsibility of the ongoing development and dissemination of the work worldwide, and are an integral part of the Connected Riding organization.

The procedure for becoming a Connected Riding Instructor

Our primary goal is to provide learning and training experiences for teachers so they are competent and accurate in their transfer of knowledge to their students. Once a person is accurate in the content and applications of the work, they will be able to quickly improve through practice and experience. A certified Practitioner working in Phase 3 may request consideration for instructor training.

The cornerstones of learning for instructors are:

  • Bringing horses through under saddle and transferring that knowledge to students
  • Communicating the message (what, why, how) of Connected Riding to groups
  • Challenging and supporting students to take ownership of their learning
  • Applying appropriate teaching methods for each particular student's learning needs
  • Becoming leaders and team members within the CEI organization

Time frame

A minimum 2 years of (additional) training after practitioner-level training which includes the following:
