Carlisle Academy is a New England premier integrative riding school, transforming lives through horses. Building upon the reputation and success of the Equest Therapeutic Riding Center, founded in 1998 on Nick and Sarah Armentroutís farm in Lyman, Maine and impacting the lives of hundreds of children and adults with disabilities, Carlisle Academy is strengthened by an integrated mission and expanded program offerings. Its hallmark hippotherapy and adaptive programs are enhanced by the addition of para-equestrian sports, traditional equestrian education, and field training courses. Carlisle Academy is a Premier Accredited PATH Center, a USEF/USPEA Para-Equestrian Dressage Center of Excellence, a Paralympic Sport Club, and a recognized US Pony Club Riding Center serving 300 adults and children each year.
Miniature Horses at Outside Initiatives serves rural youth in Linn County, Oregon. They offer year round programs for rural youth and families providing vigorous outdoor exercise, a healthy social environment and lasting life lessons. Groundwork and horse education develops confidence, leadership, compassion and communication skills which are transferred to other life aspects. Their work promotes compassionate understanding of the true value horses have in the lives of humanity.
